THE REFERENDUM THAT THEY DO NOT DARE

2025.09.01

Charis Theophilou

To Greek Version

The limitation of illegal immigration is a matter of survival for the peoples of Europe. However, such a measure requires political will, which unfortunately is lacking – resulting in Greece and other EU countries at risk of disappearing as nations from the face of the earth, without, unfortunately, their citizens realizing it, either because they are afraid to react or because they find themselves (some of the countries) in a state of shock from the bankruptcy they have been experiencing over the last ten years, with creditors seizing everything unhindered. Therefore, it is most likely that politicians will continue to bow their heads to the “Elites,” only concerned about themselves as they are not pressured by the people. Source: analyst.gr

Hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants are crowding the shores of North Africa to cross into Greece and Italy. European citizens are reacting; aversion to the flooding of their countries by illegal immigrants, mostly Muslims, is widespread in European society. Protests in Spain, England, Portugal, Ireland, Poland. The same is happening in Australia.

USA

Donald Trump demanded today that the “philanthropist” billionaire George Soros, who is targeted by ultra-conservatives and conspiracy theorists, and his son be brought to justice because, according to him, they supported violent protests across the country. The Hungary-born billionaire is accused by his critics of working to overthrow governments or orchestrate a migration crisis in Europe. The reason: the billions he paid through his organization in support of economic and justice reforms, minority and refugee rights, freedom of expression, and all aspects of Political Correctness.

Based on Soros’s published statements, any rationally thinking person reasonably concludes that a “Soros plan” for illegal migration to Europe does indeed exist, where Greece is now the main entry gateway. Furthermore, this plan converges with Turkey’s intentions regarding the violent colonization of Greece—while one wonders why the Greek government does not solve the problem, since a solution exists (article).

Australia

Thousands of people are protesting against immigrants – The center-left government condemned the protests, saying their purpose is to spread hate and that they are linked to neo-Nazis. Voria.gr

Spain

The Spanish police made arrests on Monday following three nights of clashes between far-right groups and immigrants from North Africa, and calls for an “immigrant hunt” in a town in southeastern Spain, while anti-immigrant protests continued yesterday, Tuesday.

Grate Britain

NEWSBOMB 31/8/2025

Anti-immigrant protests in Britain – Police used pepper spray against citizens. Eventful protests in Britain – 5 arrests and one police officer injured. Earlier today, Education Minister Bridget Phillipson insisted that the Home Office was right to argue that the rights of asylum seekers override those of the town’s residents.

Poland

Protests organized by the far-right Confederation party took place in Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan, Wroclaw, Bialystok, and other cities in Poland. The protesters demanded the closure of the borders with Lithuania, Ukraine, Belarus, and Slovakia to illegal migration. “Enough with the multi-year policy of ‘let them all in and who they are will be determined later,'” Krzysztof Bosak, one of the leaders of the Confederation, wrote on platform X. “Polish women and men have the right to worry about the level of security in their homeland,” he added.

Austria, Germany, Belgium, Portugal

The immigrants come smuggled, they will bring their families later. Austria banned family reunification for immigrants by law, wanting to protect the country from being overloaded with them. Its critics raised the objection that the plan is not compatible with European law. Thus, Austria is awaiting a court ruling regarding the ban on family reunification. Austria will not implement the controversial family reunification ban for immigrants until it is approved by the courts, Chancellor Christian Stocker told Euronews. Belgium decided to restrict the conditions of access for immigrants to family reunification. This revision of criteria is by no means an isolated case in Europe, as Portugal and Germany are adopting similar approaches.

At the same time, the construction of detention centers and increased cooperation with Libyan authorities to push back migrants are being planned AP News.

Αντιδράσεις στην πολιτική περιορισμού της παράνομης μετανάστευση της Ελληνικής Κυβέρνησης

Using humanitarian reasons as an excuse (Europeans, of course, are not human beings), invoking laws that they themselves drafted, and with suspicious NGOs, leftist organizations, and right-wing predators as their instruments, they react:

The reaction of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Council of Europe) Michael O’Flaherty, Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, called on the Greek parliament to reject the legislative regulation in question. He pointed out that:

Michael O’Flaherty

The suspension of the registration of asylum applications and immediate pushbacks without examination contradict Greece’s obligations under the European Convention on Human Rights, the 1951 Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees, and the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights Portal.

He stressed that such measures—such as detention or immediate deportation—are potential violations of both international and European rights Portal.

Other reactions and concerns

European Commission: The Commission spokesperson stated that they will carefully examine the legislation and emphasized that the Greek government must comply with European law. At the same time, they mentioned that the Commission stands ready to step up its support to Greece (The Brussels Times).

UNHCR (UN Refugee Agency): Expressed serious concern, underlining that the right to apply for asylum is a potential violation of both international and European rights Portal.

The Plenary of Bar Associations: Reacts to the new migration bill. The Plenary expressed strong reservations about the compatibility with International and Union Law of the provision for a three-month suspension of the submission of asylum applications by individuals entering the country illegally by any vessel originating from North Africa. The existing problems from increased migration flows and the need for measures to be taken by the State cannot lead to a regression from the achievements of the rule of law and the international legal obligations that govern the Rule of Law and bind the country as a member of the international community that has ratified international conventions. Reactions of Greek Political Parties

SYRIZA: SYRIZA has stated its opposition regarding the management of the migration issue. It refers to the actions of the far-right Minister of Migration, Thanos Plevris, which once again bring Greece to international headlines with a negative tone. In a front-page article in the American newspaper Washington Post, titled “Athens’ Trumpian Turn on Migration,” the Amygdaleza detention center is described as the “Alcatraz of the Aegean.” At the same time, the wretched detention conditions of the migrants are highlighted, as well as the harsher legislation that the Mitsotakis government is preparing despite the reactions.

PASOK: “PASOK’s position is the immediate evaluation of the asylum application, the rejection, and the repatriation of migrants to their countries of origin. Let New Democracy, therefore, stop the dangerous communication games with an issue that concerns Crete and all of Greece.” As the president of PASOK noted, the Minister of Migration, Thanos Plevris, by mentioning that out of the 507 people who arrived in Lavrio, the overwhelming majority originates from Egypt, proved that they are migrants and not refugees. Kathimerini

KKE: It is often heard as an “argument” that nobody invited the immigrants to Greece, they came on their own, they are “invaders” and they must leave. This is a deliberate lie. The migration of labor force is a natural consequence under capitalism, since labor power is a commodity and uneven economic development objectively creates the tendency to attract cheap labor force to certain capitalist states for the needs of capitalist development. The ruling class, capital, and its governments, have pursued a policy of attracting immigrants to Greece over the last decades, while it bears responsibilities for the mass refugee influx due to Greece’s participation in the imperialist wars of NATO and the EU. KOMEPO (Translator’s Note/Editor’s Note: The well-known trope in the well-known “wooden” language.)

Greece representatives,

DENDIAS: “And also, I want to be clear on this, I understand the phobia that the migration issue creates in European societies. But my humble opinion is that especially for the populations that adopt from the very beginning a part of our own tradition and our own culture, the Greek state, the Greek democracy, must always have an open embrace.” Source “Amyna News

Dora Bakoyannis

BAKOYANNIS: Dora Bakoyannis, 6 years ago, had supported a plan by the UNHCR to de-Hellenize and Islamize our beautiful Homeland, which our ancestors liberated with blood and sacrifices, For Faith and Homeland. They would pay the rents for the stay of illegal immigrants in Greece. And the aforementioned “Lady” had come out to declare that she submitted a plan in which she proposes the distribution of the illegal immigrant invaders to our Greek villages which, she says, need jobs and also have schools for their children to go to (which children, by the way, as soon as they are born here “become” Greek citizens too)! If this happens, we will very soon see Greek villages with a purely Muslim population. Read the article at the Source, Orthodoxos Typos.

KONSTANTOPOULOU

KONSTANTOPOULOU: “Asylum is the right of the persecuted, and discrimination constitutes a continuous crime. What Mr. Mitsotakis announced and is being set in motion is a nightmarish transition of Democracy into a racist regime, which will not examine asylum applications. These are practices that have been condemned in the international sphere.”

Thanos Plevris, among other things, replied to Mrs. Konstantopoulou: “Let us leave all this discussion of self-humanitarianism aside, and let us get to the substance, which is that the country must be protected.” Source thetoc.gr

The Referendum Governments Do Not Dare to Hold

Although European Union countries promote themselves as bastions of democratic institutions, reality challenges the very essence of the regime. Today, citizens are deprived of direct democracy tools to decisively influence the major issues of our time. It appears that popular sovereignty is drastically restricted whenever it conflicts with the choices and interests of political and economic elites.

A case in point is the reluctance of governments to appeal to the popular verdict through referendums on critical, identity-defining issues: from the management of illegal immigration and the imposition of the so-called “Woke agenda,” to the West’s stance regarding the expansion of Islam and Sharia law. Leaders avoid asking because they know that the majority disagrees with their policies. However, when the citizens’ voice is bypassed on the most crucial matters, the system ceases to function as a true Democracy.

Black is the new white

2026.06.05

L. Nikolaou

To Greek Version

The selection of Black actors to portray historically Caucasian figures has become a prominent contemporary artistic trend, known in Hollywood as color-blind or color-conscious casting. Concurrently, we are witnessing an increasing number of remakes of classic films and series, where originally recognizable white characters are being recast with Black actors.

While such a casting choice may not inherently be objectionable in isolated instances, the transformation of this practice into an absolute norm seems to validate the popular modern idiom: “Black is the new white.” There is something deeper underlying this practice. It stands as one of the many contemporary phenomena driven by the “Woke Agenda” and Political Correctness. From the distortion of History and the management of illegal immigration, to the deconstruction of the traditional family, the ultimate objective appears to be universal: the eradication of cultural distinctiveness and the homogenization of humanity.

For modern directors and producers, critical acclaim and awards now require strict adherence to these rules. The cinematic establishment, spearheaded by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and its newly implemented criteria, now overtly rewards productions that align with this ideological agenda

Anne Boleyn (2021)

Jodie Turner-Smith as Anne Boleyn

The British Channel 5 series focuses on the final months of the life of Anne Boleyn, the second wife of King Henry VIII of England. The historically white queen of the Tudor dynasty was portrayed by Black British actress Jodie Turner-Smith. This choice sparked intense global debates regarding the boundaries of historical accuracy in fiction.

Hamilton (Musical – 2020)

Chris Jackson. as George Washington

Although it began as a Broadway stage play, its official filmed version was released on Disney+, achieving massive success. Creator Lin-Manuel Miranda consciously chose Black, Latino, and Asian actors to portray the white “Founding Fathers of the American Nation.”

  • Alexander Hamilton: The main founding father of the US is portrayed by Miranda himself (who is of Puerto Rican descent).
  • Aaron Burr: The third Vice President of the US is portrayed by Black actor Leslie Odom Jr.
  • George Washington: The first President of the US is portrayed by Black actor Chris Jackson.

Mary Queen of Scots (2018)

In this historical film starring Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie, Sir Thomas Randolph, a 16th-century English diplomat and politician (who was white), is embodied by Black actor Adrian Lester.

The Odyssey

Helen of Troy

Famous director Christopher Nolan, for his highly anticipated new blockbuster film “The Odyssey”, cast Oscar-winning Black actress Lupita Nyong’o to play a dual role: Helen of Troy and her sister, Clytemnestra. Elon Musk reacted very strongly to this choice, launching a fierce attack against Nolan and Hollywood. Musk characteristically wrote on X that “Chris Nolan lost his integrity” and that he “profaned The Odyssey,” considering that this choice completely alters the classic work and Homer’s descriptions. “He brutally insulted the Greek people.” In fact, he made a comparison, saying that putting a Black woman to play a character traditionally described as white/fair-skinned in a foundational work of European literature is the same mistake as casting a white man to portray Shaka Zulu (the legendary leader of the Zulus in Africa).

Troy: Fall of a City (2018)

Achilles is African in new BBC TV series

In the BBC and Netflix series based on the Iliad and the historical/mythological figures of antiquity, Homeric heroes traditionally depicted as white/Greek were given to Black actors. Specifically, Achilles was portrayed by David Gyasi and Patroclus by Lemogang Tsipa.

The Personal History of David Copperfield (2019)

Although it is an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ literary work and not a strictly historical figure, the film captures the society of Victorian England. Director Armando Iannucci chose Dev Patel (of Indian descent) for the leading role of David Copperfield, while the historically white character of the lawyer Mr. Wickfield was portrayed by Black actor Benedict Wong.

The Little Mermaid (2023)

The classic Disney animated film (1989) featuring the white, red-haired Ariel; in the live-action remake adaptation (2023), Halle Bailey took on the role of Ariel.

The Equalizer (2014)

The eponymous 1980s television series starring Edward Woodward was adapted into a feature film with Denzel Washington portraying Robert McCall (a role he kept across an entire trilogy).

Annie (2014)

The world-famous Broadway musical and the 1982 film featuring the red-haired little Annie (Aileen Quinn); in its modern adaptation produced by Will Smith and Jay-Z, Quvenzhané Wallis stars in the leading role with Jamie Foxx by her side.

The Karate Kid (2010)

The iconic 1984 film starring Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso and its modern adaptation; it was adapted with Jaden Smith (son of Will Smith) taking the place of the martial arts student alongside Jackie Chan.

I Am Legend

The Original: Based on the book by Richard Matheson, it had been adapted for cinema before as The Last Man on Earth (1964) starring Vincent Price and as The Omega Man (1971) starring Charlton Heston; in the modern adaptations (2021 & 2025), Black actor Will Smith portrays the last surviving scientist in a post-apocalyptic New York.

The Manchurian Candidate

The classic 1962 political thriller starring Frank Sinatra and its modern adaptation, where Denzel Washington takes on the role of Major Bennett Marco in Jonathan Demme’s contemporary version.

KOJAK

Kojak was a police television series in the US that aired from 1973 until 1978 on the CBS channel. The protagonist was Telly Savalas. The modern adaptation starring Ving Rhames was presented starting in 2005.

Julius Caesar

This is the poster for the production of Shakespeare’s play “Julius Caesar” staged by the Nashville Shakespeare Festival in the US, from January 12 to 29, 2012 (at the Troutt Theater of Belmont University). In the leading role of Julius Caesar, we see Eddie George. It is yet another characteristic example of “color-blind casting” in theater, where a Black actor embodies one of the most famous white historical figures of antiquity.

Hagia Sophia will “punish”

Excerpt from a post by Panagiotis Traianou 2020/07/20. View the entire post here

To Greek Version

Hagia Sophia will “punish”… …Erdogan and the Turks who “follow” him. They insult Allah and humiliate the Turkish people.

When, after six centuries of continuous presence in a space, someone displays title deeds by invoking the law of war and the right of the conqueror, it means they have failed… It means they did not utilize time to turn this initial, fleeting right into an eternal, natural reality. Furthermore, when one attempts to “involve” their God in this “right” of the jungle, it is blasphemous to say the least… You do not honor your God with “stolen goods”… Quite the contrary, since you “expose” Him to everyone else, presenting Him as a “receiver of stolen goods.” That is to say, even if we assume that a property “right” exists behind seizure and plunder—for reasons of “economy” in human historical evolution—it goes without saying that this “right” cannot drag God along, making Him a participant and therefore an accomplice in such “lowly” human practices.

Simple logic is all it takes to understand the unprecedented barbarism expressed today by Erdogan and his political gang. The property right resulting from a conquest has meaning and value for a few days or a few years after a change of possession due to a military conflict. One invokes the right of conquest while the ruins they conquered are still “smoking.” When, after six centuries—and especially the recent ones, which were centuries of tremendous technological evolution—you have not managed to “swallow” the works of your predecessors and erase them from the “memory” of the space you inhabit, it means that during all this time you have done nothing significant—or at least nothing significant enough—to “cover up” the previous owners.

27 Dec 537 Open for first time

You have occupied a foreign space, which you have turned into your “nest,” and you function solely on instincts… like an animal. You defend everything around you as your property, whether you understand what it is or not. You are like crows that gather valuable and shiny objects in their nests without knowing their use, and without being able to make anything similar themselves. They gather them, protect them, and boast of them as prey… and nothing more. Unfortunately for the Turkish people, this is how Erdogan understands his presence in Asia Minor… Like crows protecting valuable “prey.”

With his foolish stance, he traps the people at the level of an occupier and “proclaims” this to the entire world, thinking it is a demonstration of power. He traps them at the level of the “invader,” who simply possesses—through brute animal force—a spiritual creation that belongs to others, and was dedicated to Another.

That is exactly what this is about. It is a humiliation for the Turkish people to invoke the right of the conqueror after so many centuries. There is no comparable example anywhere else in the world. Nowhere else in the world is there another people who, for so many centuries, continue to declare themselves foreigners and invaders in their supposed homeland… To celebrate with “fanfare” the “beginning” of a situation that has never “ended.” The Greeks “swallowed” the Pelasgians. The Romans did the same with the Etruscans. The same happened in modern history as well. The Anglo-Saxons, through their works and history, literally “erased” every Celtic “memory” from England. The Poles, in less than a century, “erased” a Prussian “memory” spanning several centuries. Only the Turks continue to “invoke” the law of war, which legitimizes them as foreign conquerors in Asia Minor.

Six centuries later, you cannot expect to do the same things the Conqueror did… Six centuries later, you cannot “appease” your God with “stolen goods”… Six centuries later, you should have vindicated Him, through your works and deeds, for His choice to support you… You should have created so many “diamonds”—specifically crafted for your God—that you would have no reason to look among the “stolen loot”… Furthermore, you should have the necessary self-confidence and strength of soul to respect the previous people who achieved greatness in the very same space… You should have the generosity to return the “borrowed” “diamond”—which is seemingly, at least, of no practical value to anyone in that space—to the common “treasury” of all human civilization.

The Turkish Exercise “Efes-2026” and the “Calm Waters

A Provocation or an Excuse for New Tensions?

2026.06.04

Greek Version

According to a report by the SKAI television network (June 4), the Turkish newspaper Cumhuriyet published a commentary claiming that Greece “exploited” the agreement between the Greek Prime Minister and President Erdogan—which had secured a climate of so-called “calm waters” in the Aegean in recent years—solely for the purpose of its military buildup.

It is evident that the Cumhuriyet publication operates on two axes:

  1. Domestic consumption: It implicitly accuses President Erdogan of leniency or inaction toward Athens.
  2. Creating pretexts: It attempts to manufacture an alibi for the recent violations of Greek airspace by armed Turkish fighter jets.

The Paradox of Turkish Demands

Ankara seems to be driven by a provocative mindset: it maintains the “Aegean Army” directly opposite the Greek islands, possesses a massive landing fleet, conducts blatant territory-seizure exercises, and maintains a direct threat of war (Casus Belli). At the same time, however, it demands that Greece remain passive, refusing to react or bolster its defensive capabilities.

The Anatomy of Exercise “Efes-2026”

Official descriptions and data from the conduct of the major Turkish exercise “Efes-2026” prove the offensive orientation of the Turkish armed forces. The scenario of the exercise included:

  • Infiltration of special forces (SAT/SAS) during the initial phase.
  • Seizure of a beachhead and the disembarkation of marines using modern landing craft.
  • Support of operations by warships and heavy artillery.
  • Airborne assault of forces using helicopters.
  • Deployment of tanks and armored vehicles immediately after securing the coast.
  • Combined land, sea, and air operations in a high-intensity environment.

The controversial point: In official posts and videos from the Turkish presidency, footage was released showing commandos raising the Turkish flag on a newly captured island target—an image that provoked strong reactions and concern in Athens.

A Clear Message to Greece

The exercise was conducted in the Aegean, a breath away from the Greek islands. The very structure of the scenario (amphibious seizure of an island target) perfectly simulates the operations that would be required in an island warfare environment.

Greek analysts and media outlets also pointed out that the visual material presented geographical simulations allegedly related to the island of Lemnos, reinforcing assessments that the recipient of this message of force was, once again, Greece.

Open Letter to President Erdogan: History, Hellenism and the Aegean Sea

Introduction

In recent years, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has repeatedly referred to the concept of the “Borders of the Heart” (“Gönül Sınırları”), a phrase that has generated considerable discussion throughout the Eastern Mediterranean and beyond. While presented as a cultural and historical vision, many observers interpret this rhetoric as reflecting broader neo-Ottoman aspirations and a revisionist view of regional history and geopolitics.

The references to territories once incorporated within the Ottoman Empire, including regions inhabited by diverse peoples and civilizations for millennia, have raised concerns among neighboring states and among those committed to the preservation of historical truth and international law. In particular, statements concerning the Aegean Sea, Cyprus, and former centers of Hellenic civilization in Asia Minor have provoked strong reactions in Greece and throughout the Greek diaspora.

The following open letter examines these claims through the lens of history, cultural heritage, and collective memory. It seeks to highlight the enduring legacy of Hellenism in the Aegean, Asia Minor, Pontus, and Eastern Thrace, while emphasizing that historical narratives should serve as bridges between peoples rather than instruments of political expansionism.

History cannot be rewritten by rhetoric, nor can cultural heritage be detached from the civilizations that created it. The monuments, traditions, and historical records that survive across the Eastern Mediterranean continue to bear witness to the region’s rich and complex past.

Dear President Erdogan,

Recently, you have launched an often repeated and relentless campaign referring to “your heart’s borders”, as you perceive them, borders which are not identical to the present natural borders of Turkey. You have done so in order to include into these borders all your neo-Ottoman, expansionist aspirations. Indeed, quite often, we are informed that you are delivering to us all “history lessons”.

But we know very well that these “history lessons”, as you call them, are lessons of dangerous populism conveyed to those uninformed people who are ignorant of history and who naturally do not know what you ought to know yourself!

Every educated man, Turkish, Greek or of any other ethnicity, certainly takes it as a joke when he hears you refer to the Greek Aegean islands by claiming that “on these islands we have our history, our monuments, our mosques!”

All rudimentarily educated people throughout the world know that since the dawn of history, the Aegean Sea, was and has remained Greek. Occasional conquerors never were, nor ever will be able to change this in the future.

Let us remind you of the following: that for at least 3,000 years the Protohellenic peoples like the Ionians, Achaeans, Aeolians and others developed Asia Minor into a region of political and cultural Hellenism; that the “fait accomplis” of violence and genocide that were used by your ancestors and unfortunately by many of your contemporaries like you personally, cannot alter history.

If nowadays you are desperately looking for “evidence” to justify your blatant expansionism in mosques built by temporary occupants in just a few of the 6,000 islands and islets located in Greece, what should we say about the World Heritage Monument, the Church of Saint Sophia of God built in the City of Constantine ten whole centuries before the appearance of your ancestors as conquerors?

Byzantine Church of Saint Sophia

What should we say about the Byzantine Church of Saint Sophia in Nicaea of Bithynia where the first Ecumenical Council on 20 May 325 and the eighth Ecumenical Council in the year 787 were held or about the Church of Saint Sophia in Trebizond, which was built between 1238 and 1263 by Emperor Manuel adorned with invaluable and unique mosaics and sculpted adornments?

Monastery of Sumela

What should we say about the Monastery of Sumela, the religious symbol of Pontian Hellenism for nearly seventeen centuries, which was established by Athenian monks Barnabas and Sophronius in the inaccessible mountains of Pontus in 386 CE? What should we say about the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the ruins of which are admired today by crowds flocking from around the world, or about Cappadocia which was a center of Hellenism starting in the first century BCE?

The Constantinople Gate in Nicaea

Should we remember perhaps the ancient Nicomedia of Bithynia, which recorded its Greek presence in 712 BCE? Or Smyrna, one of the oldest cities in the Mediterranean which was inhabited by Greek populations for thousands of years – until recently?

Do you remember Alikarnassos, Prusa, Ikonion or Eastern Thrace where the Greek myth of Iro and Leandros takes place in the ancient city of Sestos known for thousands of years?

What should we say about the tortured Cyprus, the island of Aphrodite, pure Greek since the time of the Trojan War? What should we say about Imvros and Tenedos, currently with only 1% Greek population compared to over 90% when they were delivered to Turkey as a “gift” by the Treaty of Lausanne, a treaty you are not fond of today?

Dear President Erdogan,

You must finally understand that strewn across the entire modern-day Turkey is irrefutable evidence that Greek civilization flourished thousands of years before conquerors started appearing in the region – your ancestors.

Which history exactly are you talking about Mr President? About the history of genocide, massacres, violence and greed for loot? Because this is exactly your authentic history!

Perhaps it would be useful for you to learn about the borders of our own heart.

But first try to understand, however difficult it may seem to you that the boundaries of timeless Hellenism from antiquity until today, have absolutely no geographical limit. Because the Greek spirit embraces, and will always embrace every educated man, in every corner of our planet.

Mr. President,

You protest against Greece’s military presence on its eastern Aegean islands, invoking demilitarization status based on international treaties to which your country is not even a contracting party. Greek military forces on the islands are deployed in a strictly defensive posture, possessing zero amphibious or offensive capabilities against your coast. Conversely, Turkey maintains a massive military formation directly opposite the Greek islands with a clear offensive orientation (the Aegean Army), backed by a large fleet of landing craft. Furthermore, your country keeps an unlawful, under international law, Casus Belli (threat of war) in force against Greece. The defensive fortification of Greek islands is a legitimate sovereign right, fully aligned with Article 51 of the UN Charter regarding the inherent right of self-defense against a constant and explicit threat.

Regarding the geographical boundaries of today’s Hellenism, if they give you the impression of an easy prey to blatant and manifest expansionism, well think again.
